When I worked there they made me package two week old deli salads into new containers and mark with a new date allowing it to be sold another two weeks before being marked down again in the deli carousel after being a month old. Not ok. The original date the salad was made when put in large deli case should be used. Salads that did not sell after two weeks in the bowl in the big case should be thrown away, not repackaged and resold for another two weeks then marked down after a month and left until finally sold with orange clearance sticker.. Horrible excuse for a delicatessen.
B&F Staff is usually friendly to locals. Good deals on fresh meat most often. Although, except for sales most other items are priced too high. INSTEAD try NEDERLAND CO-OP on 1st Street, good prices with many fresh organics and lots of bulk items including herbs.
Has what you need a decent prices and friendly staff. Good location as well.
Overpriced as hell and deli is unsanitary. Never bothered to write a review about it before but going in there and seeing fresh chicken tenders on the bottom of a shopping cart today made me change my mind.... Also for some reason this is the only business that hates dogs in town and even discriminates against service animals... Unfriendly signs everywhere. Every one clearly hates their job as they are super unfriendly.
Clearly, the store has experienced a lot of change in recent years. Unfriendly signs everywhere. Pot tourism seems to have really messed up Nederland. And the store seems to be suffering from it.
